The heat wave makes me think of heat and radiation. How does radiation work? How does carbon dioxide causes the temperature to increase, or is carbon dioxide the single cause of the current global temperature increase?
This article is a research to find the answers to the above questions.
How do we know the earth is getting warmer?
It is not hard to use Python metostat package and matplotlib to fetch and visualize the historical temperature data. I uploaded the code to Github, in case you want to reverify the data by yourself.
I am living in the Seattle Puget Sound area, so I pull the daily max temperature of Seattle from 1950 to 2022. (If you happen to live somewhere near Seattle, from the chart, you can easily find the 2021 summer heat spike)
